Dear Wedding Guests!

With the big day less than three weeks away, we wanted to offer a more specific update on the wedding festivities!

Attire: Since ours is an evening wedding, etiquette suggests that attire should be considered "formal," with men in suits or even tuxedos and the women in full-length dresses. HOWEVER, we are not very hung up on etiquette! :) We would prefer you dress in a way befitting the occasion, but at your own discretion. If you feel like going all out and doing the "red carpet" thing, weddings are always a good excuse for that. However, if you just wouldn't be comfortable in a suit or dress of any kind, feel free to flout Emily Post with our compliments. :)

Weather: The ceremony and cocktail hour will be held outside, on a roof deck overlooking the city, and hence will be subject to brisk breezes. Though the weather in late May will probably be in the mid-'70s, a jacket or wrap of some kind for this portion of the evening would be advised.

Comfort: Wear shoes you can dance in! The Westgate is graciously allowing our use of the ballroom until 2 a.m., so if you're up to it, we're ready to disco the night away! (Swing, too--we've been practicing!)

Dinner: Our response card offered you an opportunity to choose a vegetarian entree (we tried it; it's yum!) and we will also offer Lemon Fennel Chicken Breast with baby potatoes and vegetables to our non-vegetarian guests. If anyone would like to contact us about changing (or indicating if you haven't done so yet) your selection, please feel free until May 20.

Directions - From the Airport: Go south on Harbor Dr. heading towards the city. Harbor Dr. will end at an intersection with Broadway. Turn left onto Broadway. Take Broadway 10 blocks; turn left onto 2nd Ave.

Directions - From the Freeway: From Interstate 5 south, exit Front St. Take Front St. to Broadway, then turn left. Take Broadway for 2 blocks; turn left onto 2nd Ave.

Parking: The Westgate's valet-only parking ($12) is at the intersection of 2nd Ave. and C St. From the valet you can take the elevator directly to the third floor to reach the ceremony location. The entrance for The Westgate's parking lot is from 2nd Ave., turn right onto C St. and look for "hotel only" right-turn sign into underground garage.

Since the wedding is on Sunday, street parking will be free at meters. If unavailable there is additional parking on 1st and 3rd Aves. and on A St. in outdoor lots, and in the Civic Center garage, which is $5 on weekends. All nearby parking lots are marked with on the map.
