The weather is getting beautiful and none too soon! David and I spent the day doing enjoyable wedding-related errands. We picked up our wedding rings, which we've had engraved with our names (mine with his, his with mine) and our wedding date. We ordered some incredible flavored cheesecakes from a place named, appropriately, The Incredible Cheesecake Company. :) We tried to buy paper to make wedding programs, but the paper warehouse was closed--oops! In the afternoon, we took a break from wedding head to visit a really cool annual exhibit at The San Diego Museum of Art called "Art Alive," in which local florists re-create the museum's permanent collection in flowers. Wonderful to see and to smell! The rest of the weekend will be taken up with writing our vows and practicing dancing. It's getting so close now!

Just over a month away now! Lots of exciting developments. We've been receiving lots of response cards and even some gifts in the mail! Thanks to everyone for your generosity and good wishes.

Yesterday I went for my first dress alterations appointment. The bridal salon has no air conditioning and it's about 100 degrees here right now, so it was unpleasant to say the least to stand still for over TWO HOURS while the seamstress cut and pinned every layer of the hem! But even seeing it pinned I can tell the final product is going to be exactly what I envisioned.

My veil and tiara also arrived in the mail a few days ago. Sounds strange, I know, but I ordered them on-line! It was so much cheaper that way, and I love them. Somehow it all seems more real when I put that veil on my head. :)

We can now correctly state that we are to be married next month. 57 days away! Everything is on schedule, even the honeymoon in Kauai has been booked.

My bridal shower! It was a gorgeous day and exciting to have my near (and not-so-near) and dear surrounding me for this occasion. Synthia hosted a gracious garden brunch at her home, with lots of flowers and a fab chocolate cake. Sara and Jane flew in from Colorado and Connecticut respectively, which was a huge treat. Avery cracked us all up with "The Sam and David Quiz." I felt wonderful and special all day long. Thank you, thank you to Syn, Peach and Ave for hosting, and much love to all participants!

David, Sara, Jane and I have our tasting dinner at the Westgate. We gorge ourselves on yummy entrees and decadent desserts. Very festive, and we are much impressed with the food!

I go for my first dress fitting! Very exciting because I haven't seen the dress before in my color and size. Unfortunately, I need to order a giant crinoline and wear it with the dress before they can actually cut the hem, so I'll be going back in two weeks.

The overseas invitations were mailed today! These have been personally designed and crafted for us by Annalee Bohon (a UCSD friend of Samantha's). You may notice that the invitations have been post-marked in Tennessee (Annalee's new home).

I had a "design session" with my wedding hair and makeup artist Diane Serns. She is incredibly nice and I left feeling like a princess! She'll be working on the whole bridal party on the wedding day, and I feel we're in good hands.

David, who is the best groom ever, accompanied me to our SECOND Bridal Bazaar today. It's not nearly as big and impressive as the one in January, but it's kinda fun anyway. :) One way to tell that I'm way too immersed in Wedding World is I end up running into and HUGGING a very nice DJ that we're not even USING. :)

My dress has arrived to the shop! I'm very excited because it's 4 weeks earlier than they predicted. Rest assured, however, that I've been in panic mode about it anyway. :) I have my first fitting appointment next week.

I have discovered the SanDiegoWeddings.com bulletin boards! A new and time-sucking source of wedding fun! Oh no! David says it's worse than my bridal magazine fetish. :)

David and I visited the county register for our marriage license! It's a bit early, but it will still be valid on our wedding day! We had a really nice experience there, and even got our picture taken holding the license!

Hello everyone, we have been very busy planning and booking vendors, and we do hope to add more information here very soon. We filmed a documentary at the San Diego Bridal Bazaar that was a lot of fun (we hope to edit that down for online viewing soon).
