David and Samantha, along with a group of friends, entered a film making competition between July 30th and August 1st. This was the 48 Hour Film Project (48hourfilm.com), a competition to see if a film can be written, shot, edited, and delivered ready for screening within a 48 hour period.

At 7pm on Friday July 30th, each of the 18 teams drew a genre out of a hat -- we drew Fantasy. Then every film must include particular items in the movie:

  • a line of dialog -- "I can't take much more of this."
  • a character -- B. Todling, Mortician
  • a prop -- Pencil Sharpener
